Why RedCoat

A polymer-elastic exposed-roof waterproofing coating made from premium rubber emulsion grafted with water-based epoxy resin. It creates a seamless, durable red barrier as the protective top layer of a complete roof waterproofing system.

What you get

  • Seamless elastic barrier that helps resist seepage and dampness.
  • Exposed red finish designed to protect roof surfaces from the elements.
  • Approximately 40-50 microns of coating thickness per coat.
  • Environment-friendly water-based system and an alternative to tar felt.

Best used on

  • RCC roofs and terraces requiring an exposed waterproof top layer.
  • Prepared brick, concrete and compatible wooden surfaces.
  • Lime-surkhi roof strata after correct cleaning and preparation.
  • Systems using two SeelanShield coats as the specified base layer.

How much RedCoat do you need?

Coverage used here: 1,000 sq ft ≈ 20 kg for 2 coats. Actual consumption can vary with porosity, texture, preparation and application loss.

How to apply

Use RedCoat as an exposed waterproofing system. Follow the TDS supplied with your batch and never trap dirt or moisture below the coating.

Clean and dry the roof

Wash the surface thoroughly. Remove dirt, moss, loose material and contamination, then allow the roof to dry completely.

Build the base layer

Apply two coats of SeelanShield as the specified waterproofing base and allow the system to set as directed.

Mix the first RedCoat coat

Use 1 part RedCoat with 0.2 parts clean water. Mix until the coating is completely uniform.

Apply subsequent coats

Use 1 part RedCoat with 0.1 parts water. Keep at least 4 hours between coats.

Protect and inspect

Keep the exposed finish protected from rain, ponding and traffic while it cures. Inspect outlets, edges and thin spots before exposure.

FAQ

How much water should I add to 5 kg of RedCoat?

For the first coat, add 1 litre of water. For a subsequent coat, add 0.5 litre of water.

Can RedCoat go directly over a dirty or damp roof?

No. Wash away dirt and moss, remove loose material and let the surface dry completely before building the waterproofing system.

Why is SeelanShield used below RedCoat?

The published RedCoat system specifies two SeelanShield coats as the waterproofing base before the exposed RedCoat finish.

How long should I wait between RedCoat coats?

Allow at least 4 hours between coats. Cool, humid or poorly ventilated conditions can extend the required drying time.

Can opened chemical packs be returned?

Opened chemical packs are generally not returnable. Check the store refund policy before purchase and contact support if a sealed pack arrives damaged.
